Looking for a fun and relatively easy quilt pattern for your next quilting project? Try to Bell Bottom Quilt pattern designed by Marsha Moore exclusively for Free Spirit. You can download the Jennifer Paganelli Bell Bottom Quilt Pattern on Free Spirit's website.
Jennifer Paganelli designed a fun fabric collection with Bell Bottom. The Bell Bottom fabric collection was inspired by the 70's and it is filled with great patterns and vibrant colors. To make it even easier for you to use Jennifer Paganelli's fabric for your next project, I cut a Jennifer Paganelli Fat Quarter Set and a gorgeous Jennifer Paganelli Jelly Roll. Using the pre-cut fabric will get you started on your next quilting project without having to spend so much time on cutting the fabric. Using pre-cut fabric is a huge time saver. In addition, you get the opportunity to work with multiple designs from the same fabric collection without having to purchase each design by the yard. That will save money and you will end up with much less waste. If you are not a quilter, try using this Jennifer Paganelli Fat Quarter Set or the Jennifer Paganelli Jelly Roll for other creative projects. For example, use the Fat Quarter Set to create a number of pillow covers, each complementing each other in the nicest way. Or use the Jelly Roll to make head bands, key chains, etc. Don't forget to let your imagination takes its course and have fun! Moda Fabric is becoming more and more popular everyday. And for good reasons - Moda works with a wonderful group talented designers that create the most wonderful Moda Fabric Collections. About every four months, we have a "difficult" job of selecting our favorite Moda Fabric collection for our next creative project.
The more popular Moda Fabric becomes, the more often do I receive questions about the Moda pre-cut fabric lovingly called "baked goods" by Moda and all their fans. Following is a brief description on the various Moda pre-cut fabrics. Each Moda Fat Quarter Bundle contains one Fat Quarter from each designs part of a particular collection. Each Fat Quarter measures 18" x 22". Featured here is the Moda Tranquility Fat Quarter Bundle which contains 40 Fat Quarters for a total of 10 yards of fabric! A Moda Layer Cake consists of 40 pre cut fabric squares. Each fabric squares measures 10" x 10" and you receive one fabric square from each design part of a particular Moda Collection. Featured here is the Moda Patisserie Layer Cake designed by Fig Tree Quilts. A Moda Jelly Roll consists of 40 pre-cut fabric strips. Each fabric strips measures 2.5" x 44" and you will receive one fabric strip from each fabric design from a particular Moda collection. Featured here is the Neptune Jelly Roll designed by the most talented designer Tula Pink. Just like the Moda Jelly Roll, the Moda Honey Bun consists of 40 pre-cut fabric strips. However, the strips measure 1.5" x 44" versus the 2.5" strips in the Jelly Roll. Featured here is the Arcadia Honey Bun that was designed Sanae. A Moda Charm Pack is a set of pre-cut fabric squares with each fabric square measuring 5" x 5". Depending on the Moda Collection, the Moda Charm Pack could contain 25 fabric squares up to 60 squares. Featured here is the very popular Arcadia Charm Pack. Working with Moda Pre-Cut fabric "baked goods" can be most advantageous. First of all, you receive an entire collection in one little bundle or roll. Looking at the various designs and colors mixed in a collection is very inspiring. Second of all, since all fabrics are pre-cut you don't have to spend hours on cutting your fabrics before starting your favorite part of a project - sewing. Not to mention the frustration it may save you since you won't be cutting your fabric unevenly or in the incorrect size. Last but not least, it can also save you a lot of money. Instead of purchasing many different designs by the yard and having plenty of leftover fabric, you will have plenty of fabric with any of the Moda baked goods to make one larger project or multiply smaller projects without wasting any fabric. I hope this little overview about Moda Pre-Cut Fabric has been helpful to some of you. Moda sure provides us with many reasons to use their fabric designs for our next creative project, don't they? by: Imagine Fabric 0 Comments

If you love Marimekko fabric as much as I do, then you probably keep every little scrap of Marimekko fabric no matter how small the piece may be. I had a very small piece of Marimekko Mini Unikko blue in my stash. I thought it would be a good idea to make a Marimekko Mini Unikko blue key chain and show you step by step on how to do it yourself at home.
After only about 30 minutes you should end up with an adorable little key chain as featured here: ![]() I sized my Marimekko Fabric remnant to 2.5 inches x 11 inches. You can easily adjust the length and width to your liking. ![]() Now cut interfacing in the same size and iron it on to the wrong side of your fabric. Then fold the fabric strip in half and iron again. ![]() Now iron both sides of the fabric about 1/4 inch towards the middle. I had only a very small piece of Marimekko Fabric but if you have enough fabric you should cut your fabric to be 4 times the size of your desired finished size. This way you can iron the fabric in half and line up both sides along the middle and iron it again. That is easier than trying to iron your fabric 1/4 inch like I did :) ![]() I cut the corners on both side a little bit so it won't be too thick when trying to put the fabric into the metal key chain. ![]() Once you are done with the ironing part your fabric strip should look like this: ![]() Now top stitch about 1/8 inch along the edge on both sides. ![]() You are almost done. ![]() You can use any metal key chain but I really like this one. I don't need to use a tools in order to complete my little project. Just put in the two ends of your fabric strips (I also put some glue for extra sturdyness).... ![]() ....and close the metal flap like so: ![]() Guess what? You are already done. ![]() Make a bunch of them at the same time - it won't take too much more time but all your girlfriends will love them. Have fun! ![]() by: Imagine Fabric 5 Comments |
